Traveling to RDU Airport (Departing Flights)

The Triangle Transit Airport Shuttle service (Route 747) connects the Triangle Transit Center with the Raleigh-Durham International (RDU) Airport, Monday through Saturday. Triangle Transit does not run on Sundays.

The information below will help you make your connection smoothly. RDU currently recommends arriving at the airport 2 hours before your flight time to allow for baggage check-in, security screening, and boarding. Please visit the RDU Travel Tips page for more information.

Terminal 1 or Terminal 2?

Airport signs on the road to the airport (which can be seen from the shuttle) designate the terminal used by your airline. You may also check the RDU Website or ask the bus operator.

Departing from Terminal 1 | Departing from Terminal 2

If Your Flight Arrives at Terminal 1 :

Once you collect your baggage, head outside to the curb and follow the signs to the Triangle Transit Regional Bus Stop between Zone 7 and Zone 8 on the Ground Transportation drop-off/pickup traffic island (see picture below). The stop is less than a 2-3 minute walk from the baggage claim area. A Triangle Transit information tube with a route schedule is provided for your convenience.

If Your Flight Arrives at Terminal 2:

Once you collect your baggage, head outside to the commercial pickup curb. The stop is located in between zone 14 (rental car shuttles) & zone 15 (hotel shuttles). A Triangle Transit information tube with schedules and maps is provided for your convenience.

GREYHOUND BUS SERVICES

Durham Greyhound Station
412 W Chapel Hill St
Durham, NC 27701 Map
Take the Triangle Transit shuttle 747 to the Triangle Transit Center and catch the route 402 or 412 to the DATA transfer center in downtown Durham. Walk ~4 block west on Chapel Hill St. to the Greyhound bus station at 412 W. Chapel Hill St., next door to the Amtrak station.

Raleigh Greyhound Station
314 W Jones St

Take the Triangle Transit shuttle 747 to the Triangle Transit Center and catch the route 105 bus to Raleigh. Get off the bus at ~300 Hillsborough Street near the tall, round Clarion hotel. Walk ~4 blocks north to 314 West Jones St.

AMTRAK TRAIN SERVICES

Durham Amtrak Station
400 W Chapel Hill St

Take the Triangle Transit shuttle 747 to the Triangle Transit Center and catch the route 402 or 412 to the DATA transfer center in downtown Durham. Walk ~4 block west on Chapel Hill St. to the Amtrak station at 400 W. Chapel Hill St., next door to the Greyhound bus station.

Take the Triangle Transit shuttle 747 to the Triangle Transit Center and catch the route #301 to the Cary Amtrak Station.

Raleigh Amtrak Station

Take the Triangle Transit to the Triangle Transit Center and catch the route 105 to the downtown Raleigh CAT bus station. From here, catch the CAT Route 7 South Saunders, Route 11 Avent Ferry, Route 21 Caraleigh or Route 36 Garner Station bus and ask the driver to drop you off at the Amtrak station at 320 West Cabarrus Street.

SERVICE TO JACKSONVILLE, NC
